Brand New Medical Thriller--With a Giveaway!

This is Lisa Harris, and this month I'm writing from the US where my family has just arrived for our furlough. We'll be spending the next few months visiting churches and helping our daughter get settled in for her first year of college. We're really looking forward to catching up as well with friends and family.

As a writer, sometimes a piece of information grabs onto your heart and won't let go. It becomes a story that you simply have to write. That's exactly what happened with the story I like to share with you today. Just over a decade ago, a newspaper picture of a terrified albino caught my good friend and author Lynne Gentry's attention. As she read about the horrors these fragile people face, she couldn’t believe such evil existed in the world.

Knowing I lived in Africa, she called me to find out if what she’d read was true. Until Lynne wrote to me about the article she’d read, I have to admit, I’d never heard of this happening, but after doing some further research, I discovered that what she’d read was true. And we knew we had to tell their story. Ten years later, we're celebrating the official release of Ghost Heart.

The actual writing of the book was definitely different than anything I'd ever done. First, we decided we wanted our hero and heroine to each have a distinctive voice. The easiest way to achieve their separate voices was for each of us to choose which one we wanted to write.

Next, it made sense for me to write the scenes involving African characters since I lives there. Because of Lynne's connections to the medical world, she did the research and writing for those scenes. Once we decided on who was going to write what characters, it allowed us to focus on that part of the story line, and on those specific characters backstory and personalities.

"A brilliant transplant surgeon.
A rogue organ broker. A ghost child.
And the legend that could destroy them all."

It's been a long time in coming to see this story come to life, but for us the timing seems perfect. And as you can imagine, we're super excited to share this story of the heart to you and our readers.

To celebrate the books release (today!!), we'd like to get away one ebook copy! Leave a comment below for a chance to win copy and please include a way for me to contact you. I'll draw a winner Saturday, August 5th at 10 pm CST.

You can also find your copy at Amazon as an ebook and paperback, as well as your other favorite online vendors.

Happy reading!!

Lisa Harris

  4. Congratulations once again, Lisa and Lynne, for producing such a tremendous story. Tackling such issues as the global black market for organ donors and the horrors albinos face was brave and you combined them so well in writing a gripping story.
