by Marion Ueckermann

They’re everywhere this week! Christmas in July book sales. And if you’re living in the northern hemisphere and enjoying a sizzling summer, there’s nothing better to cool off with than immersing yourself in some snow-filled romances. We don’t really get snow in winter in South Africa, so some flurries would be welcome here, too.

For the past five days, I’ve been part of a CIJ sale with forty other great Christian authors. All books on offer for just $0.99c each. The sale ends today, July 25th , but if you hurry over to our landing page, you’ll still be able to snag these awesome deals.

My Christmas novella in this promo is Poles Apart and I’ve extended the $0.99c deal for an extra day. So you can still get this fun Christmas story until Wednesday at the reduced price. Happy reading and Merry Christmas in July!

Here’s what Amazon readers are saying about Poles Apart with their 5 star reviews:
“Sitting in the heat I thought a Christmas story would be perfect...and it was. Forgiveness, mistletoe, puppies, Christmas, a sleigh ride, sweet romance....made for a beautiful story.”
“This novella was just downright charming. One of the best Ms. Ueckermann has written. Left me all warm and squishy inside. What more could you want from a holiday romance?”
“Excellent reading, couldn't wait to see what would happen next. It's a blessing to be able read inspiring Christian Romance Books.”
“Beautiful story from start to finish. There's nothing like reading a good, clean love story. I didn't want to stop reading this book!”
“I LOVED this book!! I've found a new author to follow and I'm looking forward to reading more of her work. I'd love to see a sequel for this story, too, (hint, hint)!”
“I truly enjoyed reading this Christmas book!!! The author innovatively weaved Santa while keeping Christ as the center of Christmas. Surprisingly great writing that was engaging, captured your emotions, and left you wanting to read more of her books. I highly recommend it. I liked it so much I'm buying the paperback to keep with my other Christmas books and take out each year.”

When I wrote Poles Apart, I drew on many of my own personal experiences in Finland and Lapland like sauna, jumping into the avanto (ice-hole), and a visit to Santa Clause (the real one!). The quaint little cottage in the middle of nowhere we stayed in became my storyworld; it was simply perfect for this story.

Interested? Here’s what Poles Apart is all about…

Writer’s block and a looming Christmas novel deadline have romance novelist, Sarah Jones, heading for the other side of the world on a whim.

Niklas Toivonen offers cosy Lapland accommodation, but when his aging father falls ill, Niklas is called upon to step into his father's work clothes to make children happy. Red is quite his color.

Fresh off the airplane, a visit to Santa sets Sarah’s muse into overdrive. The man in red is not only entertaining, he’s young—with gorgeous blue eyes. Much like her new landlord’s, she discovers. Santa and Niklas quickly become objects of research—for her novel, and her curiosity.

Though she’s written countless happily-ever-afters, Sarah doubts she’ll ever enjoy her own. Niklas must find a way to show her how to leave the pain of her past behind, so she can find love and faith once more.

MARION UECKERMANN's passion for writing was sparked when she moved to Ireland with her family. Her love of travel has influenced her contemporary inspirational romances set in novel places. Marion and her husband again live in South Africa, but with two gorgeous grandsons hanging their hats at the house next door, their empty nest's no longer so empty.

  1. You have had such amazing experiences overseas, Marion, and the settings in your books are the richer for them. I have Poles Apart and look forward to reading my copy.

    1. We have been blessed, Ruth. Hope you enjoy Poles Apart :)

  2. I loved Poles Apart. As for the occasional flurries of snow here in South Africa, the mountains get a lot more than that. There have been some heavy snow falls this year. We don't get it on the ground here in P.E. but oh man, do we feel it when the wind comes off the mountains. Brrr.

    1. Oh yes, tell me about feeling it. I think we're even further away from those mountains than you, Shirl, and when it snows in the Western Cape, we freeze as well. Glad you enjoyed Poles Apart.
