Mrs Pablo Picasso is reputed to have said, “If my husband would ever meet a woman on the streets who looked like the women in his paintings, he would fall over in a dead faint.” Imagine the shock of seeing one of these ladies walking towards you— her facial features mismatched, misplaced and misaligned. Little wonder Picasso’s wife thought he would swoon at the sight of one of his creations come to life.
In contrast, if you read the first three chapters of Genesis, you'll see that when God saw all He had created, He pronounced it to be very good. He blessed the people He had
brought into being and sought Adam and Eve’s companionship as He
walked in the cool evening breeze.
Listen to what Zephaniah says:
"The Lord your God is with you,
He is mighty to save.
"The Lord your God is with you,
He is mighty to save.
He will take great delight in you,
He will quiet you with His love,
He will quiet you with His love,
He will rejoice over you with singing." Zephaniah 4:17 (NIV)
Let's go into this new week joyful in the knowledge that the Lord God, our Creator, loves us and takes pleasure in us.
What an awesome reminder, Ruth. Thanks. One has to wonder what Mrs Picasso looked like :)
